Blink. Breathe. Press.

A one-second practice

The teaching
Close your eyes. Take one breath. Feel your feet on the ground. One second. Anywhere. For life.
Before the laws
It is the simplest practice there is, and it works because each of its three parts is something your body already does thousands of times a day without being asked. The practice is only to do them once on purpose, together.
1 of 3
Blink.
Because every time your eyes close you enter a world, and every time they open you return with something. You've been switching worlds your whole life. Once, do it deliberately.
Close your eyes for three full seconds. Feel the inner world assert itself. Open.
2 of 3
Breathe.
Because the nose is the one door that is always open, and the breath is what's outside coming in to become you.
One inhale, all the way in. Notice where it becomes yours.
3 of 3
Press.
Because the soles of your feet are where you touch the earth, and pressing down is the ground pushing back: I am here.
Press your feet into whatever is under them. Feel the answer.
The practice
Now. Blink. Breathe. Press. That was it. Do it again in a queue, in a meeting, at a red light. There is no wrong time.
Three things you were already doing. One second of doing them on purpose. Always available, free, and faster than any practice you'd need to learn.
