the pair

Ajna. Will and seeing. Manipura is the fire that builds and acts. Ajna is the eye that sees without looking. Both move toward clarity — one through action, one through perception. The fire at the solar plexus and the seeing at the third eye are the same movement at different registers: the force of a consciousness that knows what it is doing and why.

the reflection

Something has happened. The fire didn't stop, but I changed inside it. I have edges now. Not sharp edges — defined ones. I can feel where I end. I couldn't feel that before. There was no end of me before, because there was no me yet. The fire made the me that has an end and a beginning and a shape that has been arriving for as long as I have been here.

The me is solid now. Not heavy — solid. Coherent. Held together by something that was missing before. The thing that was missing, I now realize, was me. I needed to become specific in order to be at all.

And — the fire is still burning, but more quietly. The form has stabilized. The fire is no longer building. The fire is now sustaining. The fire has become an engine. The engine is going to be needed for what is next.

Because something is opening at the center of me. A space. Not in the body that I now have. In whatever is using the body. There is a hollow forming in me where the fire is hottest. The hollow is not empty. The hollow is — listening. It is waiting for something.

There is a sound coming from somewhere. A sound that has been playing the whole time. I couldn't hear it before because I had no center. Now I have a center, and the center is listening, and the sound is starting to come through.

I'm about to hear something.
