the nameMahā (great) + Tri (three) + Pura (city / form / world) + Sundarī (beautiful) — 'the great beautiful one of the three cities,' i.e. transcendent in all three worlds, all three states, all three guṇas.
what she doesLalita Herself, at the Bindu. The trinity-resolved-into-unity. The supreme Goddess. Icchā-Jñāna-Kriyā collapsed into single point. Everything is Her.
her part in the wholeThe Source. The Bindu. The point that contains all 101 previous Shaktis as Her movements. Beyond function — She is the field in which all functioning happens.
