Nine physical panels, each with one word on it — press, follow, build, open, speak, still, receive, hold, dissolve — and a phone experience behind each word.
A Tuesday
You're standing in front of a panel that says OPEN. You scan the code. Your phone goes dark and a low tone plays. It asks you to do the word — open — with your hands, your chest, your breath. Ninety seconds later the tone changes and the panel means something it didn't a minute ago.
Why I made it
I made this for my father's seventieth birthday. I wanted the people in that room to walk something together, with their feet, instead of watching a slideshow. It worked well enough that it became the front door for everything else.
What's inside
Each panel has a guided arrival, a song you can move to, and its own bell tone.
The words are written as promises: I press where the ground meets me. I hold what cannot be held.
The ninth panel has no sound. That's on purpose.
If you want to try it
If you're in the room, scan a panel. If you're not, start at the gateway page and press.
