Between 1981 and 1984, a channelled entity calling itself Ra described densities of consciousness, a choice between serving others and serving self, and a harvest.
From 1981 to 1984, physicist Don Elkins asked questions and Carla Rueckert, in trance, spoke the answers, while Jim McCarty kept watch over her and recorded every word. Together, at L/L Research, they called what came through the Ra Material.
Ra described existence unfolding through eight densities, each a whole cycle of lessons: the elements first, then plants and animals, then human self-consciousness. That third density, the material says, is where we are now, and the one we are meant to graduate from.
Third density, Ra said, is built around one lesson: whether to orient toward service to others or service to self. Both paths are held as valid ways to polarize — the material insists neither is judged as evil, only as a different direction of growth.
At the end of a density's cycle, Ra described a harvest: those who chose clearly, on either path, move on; those who did not repeat the lessons. The material sets the bars differently: the path of service to self is said to demand a far purer choice.
The name Ra gave its teaching, the material says, points to a single idea: that all things are, at root, one being, one consciousness, seen from as many angles as there are creatures to see it. Separation, in this account, is a chosen illusion, not the final truth.
