As Darryl Anka channels him, Bashar tells a chronological history of humanity — from ancient experiments in consciousness to a future first contact.
Since 1983, special-effects artist Darryl Anka has entered a trance and let a voice calling itself Bashar speak through him — an entity it describes as a hybrid human from a future timeline. The claim is Anka's and Bashar's alone.
Bashar describes Lemuria as the older of two ancient societies, centred in the Pacific, built around inner attunement rather than machines. As the material tells it, this was humanity's first great experiment in consciousness.
Atlantis, in Bashar's account, ran alongside and after Lemuria — the same impulse turned toward technology and mastery of the physical world. Its ending, the material says, still echoes in flood stories told across many cultures.
Bashar describes the Grays as humanity's own far-future descendants, who damaged their world and their genetics, and travelled back to interbreed with early humans — seeking healthy DNA, and hoping to help this era avoid their mistake.
Out of that mixing, the material describes five hybrid civilizations arising, Bashar's own people the Sassani said to be the third. He describes himself, in turn, as one version of a future human being.
Bashar has long said one of the five hybrid civilizations will be first to make open contact with Earth. Decades on, as the material itself acknowledges, that contact has not yet happened.
